Wanted to share my experience as I finished diving into “Code Breaker” by Walter Isaacson, and it’s not just a typical read. This one’s a real brain-teaser and each 480 pages is worth the effort.
Isaacson takes you on a wild journey into the world of gene editing, with Jennifer Doudna being the main character. The whole CRISPR-Cas9 thing can sound like a but complicated at first, but then it might turn you into a bioengineering enthusiast ready to get the Nobel Prize.
What got me hooked was that’s not just about the cool breakthroughs; it’s about the people behind them. The scientists are practically characters in a drama, with rivalries and life stories that kept me turning the pages.
But, if you’re not into biology, it might be a bit of a struggle with confusing terms.
You can still enjoy as the book shares roller coaster of emotions and ideas of choosing a child’s looks and intelligence through gene editing. It’s like sci-fi, but real.In short, just read it and feel like a scientist😅
I read the book too. In this book describes that life of a scientist who created vaccine for COVID-19, Nobel prize laurent, learnt that CRISPR gene editing.
